WEEPING GUN (YG5000)

Weep style guns are designed with an orifice cut out of the bottom that allows a small amount of water to continuously flow through the lines when the spray gun is not being used. A small trickle of water constantly escapes from the gun.

A non-weep spray gun is designed so that the water is completely blocked unless the trigger is engaged. Barring any issues with a leaking seal or a damaged part, no water should ever escape from a properly functioning non-weep gun unless the trigger is pulled.

Circumstances to use a weep gun:

• When freezing is an issue – Constant flow eliminates the risk of freezing
• Releasing pressure when a high-pressure line is unused for long periods of time

Weep guns are primarily used in car wash bays and are not ideal for pressure washing. Since pressure washer units are generally shut off in between use, lines are emptied of water (no risk of freezing) and there is no pressure buildup. Knowing that, regular non-weep guns are perfectly sufficient for pressure wash applications.
